Families would be responsible for bringing sketchbook/drawing journal of choice,

Shakespeare and Plutarch texts (both are available online free, or purchase hard copy),

as well as any additional books required for class. This should be minimal. Since a CM education

holds off formal schooling until 1st grade, we have no formal schedule for the younger children,

but they will have a "living atmosphere" with music, books, and tactile playing opportunities. Where

appropriate, we can integrate some similar ideas with the younger group. Also, if you are very new to CM

we recommend you take some time to read For the Children's Sake by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay

or In Vital Harmony by Karen Glass (book discussion this summer!). They are both excellent introductions and lay a good groundwork

for jumping into her books if you so choose. And if your form 3 child hasn't had any exposure to

Plutarch, it's often recommended that they read the short book Stories from the History of Rome

by Mrs. Beesly to get a framework for what Plutarch's lives are about.

We would have an option to conclude the year with a family night to show what we've learned,

especially if anyone is enthusiastic about Shakespeare ;)

Please read and consider if this group is right for you and your family.

Beginning Considerations

A Saturday morning immersion will be required for all parents that will assist in classrooms. It will be fun!

When do we ever get the opportunity to relax and be in the student's seat? We will go through

many of the subjects to be taught in co-op. And there will be food and coffee and chocolate.

And joy and peace. Can you tell I'm excited?

To be scheduled in the early fall.

Once you have considered...

River's Edge Waitlist

Blessings and peace as you consider this option for your family next year.

We sincerely hope you can join us!
